Lossie Youth Café first opened its doors in 2007 after six years of planning and hard work. We open four evenings a week to provide a safe space for young people from Lossiemouth and the surrounding villages to meet and socialise, away from the many pressures and demands of everyday life. We
currently have around 130 visits per week from young people between the ages of 12 and 18.

The cafe is staffed by volunteers, who work hard to provide a variety of opportunities to engage the young people and develop their confidence and abilities and who together donate over 1,800 hours of their free time each year to the project. The Thursday music night – Rock Café - attracts young musicians of all abilities and has worked with Moray Council to offer the opportunity for young people to work towards Youth Achievement and Dynamic Youth Awards.

We are supported by the local churches of Lossiemouth and the community at large and also have strong links with the Moray Council youth workers and Lossiemouth High School.
